Zayante #12125
Zayante #12125 has a beautiful Redwood soundboard that was part of a tree cut down over one hundred years ago in the Santa Cruz mountains. The stump of this tree was left in place and burned over by fires leaving only the heartwood locked away in a charcoal and moss skin. The back and sides are made of black acacia also from the Santa Cruz mountains. It is hand made in the traditional Spanish style but has features not normally found in traditional classical guitars. Zayante # 12125 has very strong bass and a good ringing sustain.

Canco Del Lladre is played here by Ethan Kuhlken, a student at the UC Santa Cruz music program. The song was written by Miguel Llobet (1878 – 1938) This recording was done here at the Kelly guitar shop with a Royer R10 microphone and a Shure SM81. It has not been heavily edited to preserve an honest representation of the instrument.
